WiFi icon is not showing up on Google Home app.

  • - issue : Cant find easy way to access network setting because of missing wifi button.
  • - This leave user with no option to to view or make changes to wifi/network setting

Steps

  1. Launch Google home app on iphone.
  2. By default, "Favorites" page load.
  3. Three buttons displayed right above favorite section.
  4. Wifi button display for few seconds and then replaced by another
  5. Cameras | Climate | Wifi
  6. Cameras | Climate | Smoke & CO (After few second replaced with "Smoke & CO" button)
  7. I am assuming this page either does not have enough space to display wifi button or something else is wrong.

Workaround (This does not fix missing home button but help accessing network settings)

  1. Click on "Devices".
  2. Scroll down to "Routers".
  3. If you have mesh routers , you may see all mesh router listed. Click on any one of them.
  4. Click on wheel cog top right corner. "Setting option"
  5. You should "Device Settings" page now.
  6. Scroll to very bottom.
  7. You should see "Network Settings" option available now.
  8. You can now configure your network etc.

Thank you for the detailed information and your observations.

Regarding the buttons at the top of the "Favorites" section, you are correct that these buttons are not currently adjustable by users. Google's system automatically assigns the priority for their appearance and order.

If you would like to see the ability to customize this section, we highly recommend filing a feature request via the public issue tracker. This is the best way to let Google know about your interest in this functionality and help prioritize its development.

In the meantime, to get faster access to frequently used devices, you can add them directly to the "Favorites" section on your home page. This will allow you to quickly control those devices without navigating through deeper menus.

Apparently if there are more than three tiles. User must swipe left to see other title. Horizontal scroll bar or arrow indicator would be nice to help user understand there are more hidden buttons.
