When asking at the time or the weather it sits there and it thinks when asking it to turn off lights turn on lights or anything with automation it will work just fine when asking who I am and replies back to my username when I tell it to find a phone it's confused who I am I've been on a support call with one of the Google support numbers and they told me I need all three new devices but I don't understand they were working yesterday fine

Was working fine for years.

Stopped working several days ago.

Started working again yesterday.

Broken again this morning.

Do you think they will be giving us a credit for not being able to listen to our YouTube Music accounts on the speakers?

Hello I having the same issue as well as it not working with my other nest devices.  For example I have a nest thermostat and when I tell it to turn the temp up or down its 50/50 if it will do it.  It hears my command but sometimes wont respond.  Also the same thing with smart plugs I have that are connected.

Out of no where, my nest audio does not answer time or weather questions when it did before. Whenever I ask what the time or weather is, it would show the display light loading until the light turns off.

Other questions and commands work as usual.

I tried doing a hard reset, unplugging wifi router, and turning the device on and off but it didn't work.

Hi @kevwvin

I'm going to escalate your post over to our Community Specialists. I've seen other reports from users experiencing the exact same issue. I am glad you already tried the reset as that is my usual go to troubleshooting. Sorry that it didn't help.

I have a Google home setup with 2 displays (a Nest Hub and a Nest Hub Max), and a speaker. Everything has been working fine for months until a few days ago. Suddenly, none of these three devices will respond to most voice commands. The words appear on the screen of the two hubs so I know they are "hearing" me, the little wheel spins, but no response. The only exception I've found is if I ask it what a certain animal sounds like, it will tell me like usual. Makes no sense but true on all three devices. Pictures from my Google Photos albums still cycle on the screens, the current weather is displayed. I can cast music from my phone. So I know they're getting a decent internet connection. They just cannot process most voice commands.

I tried power cycling, reconnecting to the Wifi network, I even did a factory reset on one of the displays and added it back to the Home. No change.  I also made sure the Home app on my phone was up to date.

Any thoughts about what could be causing this? I don't really want to delete the entire home and start over but I'm not sure what else to do.

Mu nest.mini won't respond to What time is it or what day is it ir what's the date today. Lights just keep blinking. And then stop with no response given

I saw a previous post here about a similar prblem, but there's no resolution.

I've already tried resetting my nest, but still the same. Please help. Thanks.

I have been having similar issues for about 10 day. I thought it was related to turning on Gemini but turned that off and did all the trouble shooting again and still having he issues

Same here. All my nest minis hubs and audios stopped working yesterday. If you ask for the weather or the time of day they will just spin endlessly and give no response. They can still sometimes work for basic home control, they can start music, but can't stop it. I even went so far as to delete my home and recreate a new home and factory reset all the devices and re-add them back, but it didn't help at all.

Same here with, shockingly, no explanation, or work around on "Google"

After 6 DAYS of trying to fix my Home assistant I can finally get it to play music, but that's it. Won't answer questions anymore or give me the weather. Any suggestions?

In the past few days, we are getting timers set on random google devices throughout the house. You can be at one end of the house and devices that are in the garage are setting duplicate timers. Fortunately, they are consistently appearing on my Pixel phone and can swipe them all to stop. I don't know how devices that cannot hear the OK google are setting the timers a few seconds after the closest one.
I thought if one responded, the rest should ignore the command.
We also get about 5-6 entries of a shopping list item when we tell one device to add something to the shopping list. Something has gone really wrong.

I am having the same problem with my Google home and my Google mini.  Doesn't respond to hey Google just keeps spinning.

It sounds like there might be an issue with your Nest Mini's settings or connectivity. Try restarting the device and ensuring it's connected to the internet. If the problem persists, a factory reset might help

I already did those, and the problem persists.

Im having the same problem with 3 nest mini 2nd gen. Its unusable. Since its been days, Im gonna go for the competition, Alexa, and trow away this **bleep**.

It's suddenly working now. My Nest mini is now giving the time, day, and weather

I woke up this morning to find mine working too. I've checked everything that I remember wasn't working and it appears to be back.

Hello,

For the past few days, none of my Google nest speakers are responding to questions about the weather, date or time.  I answer the questions and I get four spinning color dots.

If I ask any other question, it will respond and it will respond correctly.

they say it's a bug

Okay, can it be fixed

they say work in progress,no extimated date for solution,we have to wait and hope

I do not get any answers ... maybe part of the bug fixing ?

Try to call by phone as i did yesterday

No need to call ... you had the answer that it is a bug so I guess we will have to be patient.
And if not solved in the short term, maybe I need to explore the H.A. option or the competitor from amazon.
Thanks - happy NY !

Hello,

Since a few weeks I have two Google Nest Audio Speakers paired in a stereo setting. When I stream music (TuneIn, Spotify etc.) and I asked the time, the volume goes to minimum (nearly to zero) and it returns NOT to the normal volume.

What have I tried to solve this little problem; 1. Reset 2. Factory Reset with no results.

The distance to the router is 0.5 mtr.

I have discoverd that when I switch the mic-switch at the backside of the first speaker (switch off and on), the volume is back on the normal level.

The problem is only bij asking time, weather/myagenda etc.:no problem.

Do you have a solution?

Grtz.

Piet

Have Google nest and a mini. Worked fine until yesterday. Will not respond to any questions but the lights flicker on mini so it hears me. Will play music if asked. Have performed a factory reset on devices as well as my router. Even reset home app. Nothing works. Please help.as this is really annoying. All I  have is two speakers when I actually want questions answered?

I am having same issue, apart from mine won't even play music. Works for a couple of interactions after I turn the device on and off but then light work when I interact but no response

Mine is doing the same thing. I'm about to get rid of all my Google devices. This is unacceptable.

Same here !

Same here. My speakers will control lights, etc, but won't answer weather, time, or other general web search type questions. Assistant on my phone works normally.

Same. Mine will play music when asked, although won't pause or stop music. Everything else just times out. Won't even tell me what time it is. In my google home activity it says "read a message" right after it happens.

same here, assistance said it's a bug, they are working on it but non date of resolution. It'a big trouble, fear i'll need to switch to Alexa Echo

Same issue. Lights and switches working  via voice command but google home and mini will not answer questions. Tried different wifi but still not working.

Hi again

My Google hub and mini are both now responding to questions and appear to be working fine. Happened in the early hours of this morning. Obviously Google have got on it and fixed the glitch well in my case. Hopefully this stays okay. Don't know why Google is not acknowledging that. There obviously was a problem.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry that you're having issues with the questions on Google speakers. I understand how frustrating this can be.

I can see that some of you have already managed to solve the problem. I want to know if anyone else still has it and also if you can indicate the following so I can help you:

  • When did the problem start?

  • Have you tried restarting the device?

  • What steps have you tried since you noticed the problem?

Please keep me posted. I'll look forward to your response.

Regards,

Kevin

They are not working again. It's definitely a Google problem. Please don't think Im being rude..but your suggestions of restarting  it clearly means you have not read the postings. I'm sure everyone like myself has reset the router. Reset the hub/mini and the rest of the devices. They are clearly connected to the internet as they blink when you ask a question but they just don't answer the question. Please read the postings before giving these suggestions. They are clearly given off a script!

reset the whole word,no way,we can only wait ,it's a server issue
