Apple Music won’t play

My hub max won’t play music from Apple Music, despite being my default. I have rebooted, reloaded the app., etc… states I need a “premium” subscription???

Hey Mbibler,

 

That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let's see what's going on.

 

Do you have an Apple Music premium subscription? Also, was it working before? Could you try relinking your Apple Music account from the Google Home app? Reinstalling the Google Home app might help too.

It was working great, and then just stopped. I tried relinking a couple of times, and reinstalled the app, as you had previously suggested. Nothing seems to have done the trick. I do have a subscription… thank you for your help!

Hey there,

 

Thanks for the update. Try these steps:

 

  • Uninstall the Apple Music app on your phone.
  • Once uninstalled, try linking your Apple Music account again on the Google Home app.
  • If you successfully link it, you can install the app back on your phone.
  • If the issue persists, try resetting your Google Nest Hub to see if that helps.

Thanks for trying the steps. Is it also happening when you try to play music from other music service? How about when playing news, radio or podcasts?

I did the reboot again this morning, and while it didn’t work initially, it played after about 10 minutes after the reset??? So fingers crossed!

Well it only works if I push the trigger on the screen but not to the verbal command… pretty much ready to pitch it out the window
