Asking to play something from YouTube wrongly defaults to using YouTube Music

I have serval various speakers as well as a chromecast. When asking a speaker to play a video from YouTube on my chromecast it always plays *something* from YouTube Music. For instance, my kids asking it to "play Ryan science from YouTube on TV" (which it understood the words correctly) would result in "Alright, Ryan's Mystery Playdate Theme Song - Who Will it Be? from YouTube Music. Playing on TV..." which is not desired. I understand it is difficult to determine what people want, but it seems to always try to find something on YouTube Music, even if it doesn't really match. The thing is, if I wanted it to do that, if I wanted to use YouTube Music... I would have said "from YouTube Music".

tl;dr: Saying "from YouTube" should play something from YouTube, not YouTube Music. Saying "from YouTube Music" should play something from "YouTube Music".

I totally understand it can be difficult to know where to go for support when everything is so intermingled. I was mistaken in thinking that you were using a Chromecast with Google TV, my bad! If you'd like, here is the Google Assistant Community. There is an option to submit feedback there, as well as a dedicated forum for all things Google Assistant.

I hope that helps,

Jeran

Hey there TheSharpieOne,

I apologize about the late response, thank you for being patient! I know I've experienced this issue as well. I think the Assistant is trying to assume the best application for the media, instead of doing exactly what you ask of it. I'd recommend submitting feedback via Google TV to let Google know that the Assistant could use a little refinement in that area.

I look forward to your response, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know!

Best regards,
Jeran

Is Google TV the right place? The chomrecast is not the tv version (if anything it's stadia since it came with a stadia controller bundle). This really just emphasizes the problem with google consolidating product lines into brands. I was originally looking for a place to get help with the Assistant itself but everything comes down to the device being used (and some times multiple devices when trying to get one to control the other.)
