Assistant repeats command but gets it wrong

This is one of two issues I'm having (the other issue is that I can't cast audio from any app to any speaker).

I have two Nest Audios that are paired, and two Nest Minis. The four speakers are in a Speaker Group (House Party)

Since I can't cast to any of my speakers or speaker groups, I have asked Assistant to "Play episode 28 of Small Town Murders on Podcast Addict on House Party."

GA repeats that she will "play Small Town Murders #28 on Spotify on House Party". Instead, it plays a Spotify Daily Mix (that I've never listened to) on one of the Nest Audio speakers (the one that answered my voice command). This same mistake was repeated three times after being given the same command. 

I have (1) restarted the router, (2) reinstalled Google Home app with Public Preview off, (3) reset each speaker.  

Anyone else experience this? It was working fine last night, and executed my morning routine as usual (playing a podcast on the Nest Mini in my bedroom), but would not respond to attempts to change the speaker from my phone/the app/Google Homes app.

GA seems to get many requests wrong and more often says "sorry I don't understand" when it's a simple question as in where a city is located. Very frustrating on our side so glad you have this example to share, other solutions anyone??

  • Verify device and app settings: Please ensure your Podcast Addict app is correctly linked, and there are no conflicting settings on your Nest devices or Google Home app.
  • Test different commands: Trying variations of your command can sometimes help isolate the issue. For example, try saying "Play episode twenty-eight of Small Town Murders on Podcast Addict for House Party."

Regarding the casting issue:

  • Network stability: Network fluctuations can interfere with casting. Ensure a strong Wi-Fi connection for all devices involved.
  • Speaker group configuration: Double-check that all speakers in your "House Party" group are online and functioning correctly.

By systematically working through these steps, you should be able to identify and resolve the underlying causes of these issues.
