I can't set-up my nest 2nd I bought from USA. It says wifi not working as it is from a different country

Thanks for reaching out — let me help you with this.

 

Setting your expectations, Google Home or Google Nest speakers and displays may or may not work properly specially if you're in a country where it's not officially supported. To confirm, are you using a private network? If so, do you have a dual-band router? Make sure your devices are within 15-20 feet of your router.

 

Give these steps a try:

 

  • Reboot your router and devices to refresh your connection.
  • Make sure your Google Home app is updated.
  • Check router settings. (AP isolation must be disabled and UPnP must be enabled). 
  • If you're using an iOS, turn on Local network access for the Google Home app. Here's how: Privacy > Local Network > Google Home app 
  • Use a mobile hotspot to set up your devices (To isolate the issue).
