How can I block YouTube 100%? I’ve done all the settings etc. but the children still end up watching some pretty marginal stuff and I don’t want them doing that.
I’ve searched high and low and can’t seem to find anything.
am based in NZ where digital well being isn’t available… go figure. Any help appreciated

Hi Longtimelisten,
Thanks for posting in the community!
I'm so sorry to hear that the children are watching some content that you don't want. No worries; I'm here to help!
I'm afraid there isn't a way to completely block YouTube. In the Google Home app, we have the option to create filters that can restrict the content children see. But the Google Home app offers content filters to restrict what they see. Here's how to enable them:
Also, I share an additional article that provides more information about the control-restricted content on Nest devices.
If you have more questions, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further.
Best regards,
Nery.

Hi, thanks for coming back to me -although did you see this aspect of my post? "am based in NZ where digital well being isn’t available… go figure. Any help appreciated "
Is there going to be a way that YouTube can be blocked? At present we have removed the device.

Hi Longtimelisten,
Thanks for your quick reply!
Sorry for the misunderstanding. You're right. Sadly, digital wellbeing is only available in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, and Japan. But here are more options we can consider since we cannot completely block YouTube:
I also share with you an article about how to set up Google Nest or Home speakers or displays for your child.
If you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further.
Best regards,
Nery.

Why can we not just block youtube all together? Sure you can have YouTube kids but you still have YouTube and it’s full of absolute crap.

Hello again,
Thanks for your quick reply!
As mentioned above, currently, there's no way to completely block YouTube on Google Nest devices. But we are always looking for ways to improve your experience with our products and services. I share with you an article about how to send feedback through the Google Home app. Your comments will help us improve and make the best decisions to implement some features you may need.
If you have more questions for me, feel free to reply to this post. I'll be happy to assist further.
Best regards,
Nery.
