Brand new Home Mini not powering on

Received a 1st gen Home Mini as a gift.

Straight out of the box, the speaker does not power on. All I get is a green light when I push the reset button under the device. Trying the solution of unplugging and reconnecting the power 10 times, but so far I've had no result.
