I’ve set up my Away routine to turn off lights automatically when I leave - cool. But if I have music playing, I also want that to stop. Is that really not an option?

Add an action, add your own, stop music

Thanks for the reply. When I go to add an action, the only option it gives me is to turn one of my cameras on or off (I already have it set to turn the other one on). I was surprised there weren't more/custom options as well. Any idea why?

Open away routine in Home app. Go to 'add action'. Then 'try your own'. Then add your custom command using voice command syntax, as if you've already said hey Google. "stop music" or "pause" should work.

My Google home doesn't offer 'try your own' in home/away routines. Is there a way how to get it?

Hi scribblerr,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.
I totally understand that this is a good feature to use with the Home and Away routine, but it isn’t available. I'd suggest you submit feedback about it; here's how.
Let us know if you have other questions or concerns; otherwise, we will be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Thanks for your reply, which didn't answer my question unfortunately.
Is there a way a routine perhaps, how to make the music stop, when you leave the house? Simple as that.

Hey scribblerr,
Adding an action on routine that will stop your music in playing is not supported. As an alternative, you can add your own by typing "Play music for <duration>," and this will stop the music on your Google Home/Nest device after the set time.

Hope this helps.
