Can I use a pair of nest audio speakers as home theatre?

Hi,

I have been using google nest audio for over a month and though it has a very irritating and uninutitive google assistant, the sound quality is amazing for just a single speaker and for that price range (especially with the AI powered equalizer ) (compared to Sony HT R3 5.1 which is 17k when I bought).

So, I would like to know if I can get one more nest audio speaker to use it as a home theatre for my  new computer monitor + fireTV stick 4K setup.

Are 2 speakers enough to get a surround sound experience with content like Dolby Atmos?

And I wonder if it will be worth the purchase, or better to get headphones or better 2.1 speakers instead.

Hey g1patnaik,

Thanks for posting and apologize for the late response.

Please note that we don't officially support pairing any of our Google Home and Nest speakers with a TV or computer monitor as an audio output for video playing. Our Google Home/Nest devices are standalone speakers/displays, and it is best to add them on your TV with a Chromecast device in a speaker group to play music, podcasts, and other audio entertainment.

We're always looking for ways to improve -- we'll take this as feedback, and we'll gladly pass it along to the team. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Muddi
