Can’t communicate between speaker and iphone

I have recently brought a google hub, 3 speakers, nest doorbell, outside security camera, chrome cast and remootio gate control. I have the hub up and running, haven’t even started with the doorbell/camera/chromecast/remootio yet but I’m already stuck with the speakers. 
I get the following message:

“Playroom speaker may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPhone. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your iPhone’s privacy settings. Then try again.”

I have local network turned on and I have followed the troubleshoot. Restart router/speaker/wifi connection etc.

I have BT broadband with a smart hub 2 if that helps. 

Please help!

The "could not communicate" error could be due to a variety of issues. I'd recommend trying these steps:
