Can’t stream Kerrang! Radio from Planet Radio on Nest Hub

Since early 2023 I've had difficulties playing Kerrang! Radio. Most radio stations (including other Planet Radio stations) will play if you just mention the station name, but Kerrang! Just won’t work. I’ve tried  play "Stream Kerrang Radio from Planet Radio", and multiple variations but it doesn't work.

This worked for most of 2022 and 2021, and our Alexa and Siri devices have no issue.

The Nest Hub responds with "I don’t know, but I found these results on search”

I have had the same issue and noticed if you specify "play kerrang radio on tuneIn" it works.

Hi CloudDog23,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this with your Google Nest display. A few things I'd like to ask-- are other radio station works fine? How about when you command it, what commands do you usually use? Have you already tried other steps like rebooting the Google Nest? Let's try that first and see if this would make any difference.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Princess

Please see my post for most of you ask. I can confirm I have rebooted.

Hi CloudDog23,

Sorry for the late response. If other radio station works fine, you may try reaching out to that specific radio station to check with them if there's an ongoing issue on their end.

Best,

Princess

As I said, other Planet Radio stations will play if you just mention the station name, but Kerrang! (a planet radio station) just won’t work.

it works perfectly on Alexa and Siri devices.

Hi CloudDog23

Thanks for the additional info.

Could you please try to command your phone's Google Assistant the same thing to see if you will get the same results? Also, if you haven't done the reset, let's try that first to see if we will get the same results.

Keep me posted.

Best,
Princess

this is what happens when I ask the command in Google Assistant. Essentially it opens the correct web page to enable me to play the radio station.

I have multiple Google Nest devices and I get the same result on them. I have also tried at a friends house, on their Google Nest and they get the same result.

I have had the same issue and noticed if you specify "play kerrang radio on tuneIn" it works.

Hey folks,

Chiming in, it looks like the issue is isolated on a specific radio provider only. It is best if you could reach out with Planet Radio to check if they are getting similar reports. Also, do you have the same issues when you use the Google Assistant app on your phone?

@CloudDog23: Could you check if the command shared by @Pasties91 works on your device?

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi,

The problem is more nuanced than a specific radio provider.

Planer Radio have many radio stations, that all work on a Google Nest, except Kerrang! Radio.

I've reached out to Planet Radio, via their support email and their Twitter, and received no reply.

As stated above (with screen shot), I do not have the same issue when I use the Google Assistant app on my phone.  I also do not have the same issue on Amazon Alexa and Apple Siri devices.  The issue is present on every Google Nest device I test it on.

Fortunatly, @Pasties91 work around has enabled me to resume my listening, so thank you for that.

Hi CloudDog23,

Sorry for the late response. We appreciate you sharing some tricks on this @Pasties91

Since this has been sorted out, we'll consider this complete and will lock the thread now. Feel free to start a new one if you need assistance with your Google Nest devices and the Community would gladly help.

Best,

Princess
