Can't turn TVs off using nest speaker

RoyBS

Hi,

I have a couple of Android TVs (Sony and TCL) linked with my Google Home app. I can turn all of them on and off from the app using the remote control feature for each of them. However, when I ask one of my speakers (Nest audio and 2 Nest minis) to turn off the TV it's unable to do so and tells me to reach out to the vendor to see if it's supported. Any idea how to get it to work via voice commands?

Hi RoyBS,

Thanks for reaching out and letting us know about your concern. Try the steps below and let us know the result by updating this thread:

  1. Unplug the TV > wait 10 minutes> plug it back in.
  2. Try a different voice command.
  3. If the TV is turned on or off repeatedly during a short time, the voice commands might not work. Wait about 10 minutes > try again.
  4. Ensure that the TV is properly linked to the speaker or display .
  5. Reboot the router.
