Cannot set up Google Nest Mini

Cannot set up Google Nest Mini.

I switch on mini....I open Google Home....the speaker connects....I then get a screen telling me to update my Google home app...I press the button to update only to find that there is no update....I press the open button on play store and it takes me back to the screen telling me to update....

I would first try uninstalling the app, then reinstall it?
