Cast Audio is gone for Nest Audio Speaker

The Cast My Audio option is now gone in the Google Home app on my Android phone. There is a play music option now, but that only plays a music service, like spotify. I cannot use my own app to play and stream my own media to the speaker any more.

There was a recent update, and this functionality has changed. I purchased this speaker to play my own media, and it is now gone. Are there some settings I can change to resolve this issue?

It's still working for me with my Nest Mini Gen2's. The Play Music option shows up under the device name on the Home view. You have to open the device to see the Cast My Audio option.  What version of Google Home are you using? Mine is 2.46.1.7.

Mine has disappeared. I am on the same app version. When I see the room and device, there is a play music option. But now when I click on the speaker, the cast audio option is no longer there.

Strange. Maybe Google decided to stop supporting that feature for the Nest Audio but not for the Nest Mini? Sorry I can't help you but I'm sure that one of the many super helpful and self-motivated Google support reps will come to your rescue here any minute now. I've been working with them for a year now on my simple Nest Mini problem and I'm confident that they will provide me with a fix very soon....  😂

The cast option was no longer an option after adding a second nest audio speaker. It would connect, but always drop casting after just a couple of songs. I just turned them off. Going to see if I can return them. I bought some real powered bookshelf speakers. A much better option.
