Devices starting play after being switched off

I have a Home and a Mini in different rooms. Both now restart playing the radio station I have on daily after I have asked them to stop, usually about 20 minutes later. No commands, I've usually left the house by then, no routines set up. I have rebooted both devices and it is still happening. Help.

I've just posted this in reddit:

My Nest minis have been restarting streams recently and I've just discovered why.

When a radio stream has been paused/stopped, TuneIn (I assume, or just Google?) pushes an ad to the device. After the ad has finished playing the device continues to stream the previous radio channel as though it had never been paused/stopped.

The result is that devices seem to wake for no reason.

Thank you for that but how do you stop it doing that? I have to open my Google home app when I get to work and switch them both off remotely.

No idea yet, sorry. I'm trying to find somewhere to post a bug report. This forum seems to useless and ignored by Google

Hey folks,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know how challenging it can be when there's something wrong with your Google Home/Nest devices. A few questions: when did the issue start? How often does it happen? Is the issue isolated to TuneIn only? How about when playing music?

Please try replicating the issue then instead of saying "Stop" try saying, "Hey Google stop casting." Let see if your device will have the same behavior.

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers,

Muddi
