Finally got Air Quality option for the photo frame, but nothing is displayed

Today, I finally got the Air Quality option in the photo frame options to enable on all my google displays (all my Nest Hubs, Nest Hub Max, and Lenovo Smart Display). However, upon enabling it, it doesn't show anything on the ambient display. I am assuming I am in an area (Bay Area) where it is supported because when I ask what the air quality is, it gives me the new AQI information with the ranges of sensors around me.

Is there anything else I have to do or am I missing something? With all the fires going on in California, I would hope this was a supported area.

Hi ampersandru,

Thank you for your post. The wildfires in California are affecting a lot of people, so I understand your concern. No worries, I would be more than happy to help answer your question.

You will need to toggle on the 'Air quality' option for your display.

Here are the steps to set it up:

  1. Open the Google Home App
  2. Click on your display device
  3. Click on settings
  4. Click on Photo Frame
  5. You will see an option called 'Air Quality'. Press 'show'.
    • This will show air quality when available in your area.

If nothing shows up after having the Air Quality switched to show, then you may be in an area where there is not a reported air quality station. In that case, you can always ask your device "What's the current air quality in [city, state]."

Thank you for your patience and stay safe! Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Hi ampersandru,

Thanks for your reply. If your device is not displaying the air quality after setting it up, that means there is not a station in your area it can pick it up from or the feature has not completely rolled out to your device yet. I appreciate your patience during this time.
