Find my phone won't find MY phone

Cmg82

Since changing my phone (to a phone running Android 11 go) I can no longer use the find my phone feature on our nest hub to find my phone. Previously it gave me an option to choose which device to call, now it only allows me to find my 2nd phone. I can use the find device app from another full Android phone to find it but not the hub.

Is this issue caused because I'm unable to run the Google home app from my new phone (a big frustration cause by Android go!)?

Hi folks,

Thanks for posting in the community.

@RachelGomez123 & @MplsCustomer, appreciate the help.

@Cmg82, since you recently changed mobile phones, we need to check the settings if the new phone is already listed. You can follow these steps below.

1. Go to https://goo.gle/3aFSuU8
2. Tap the profile account on the top right corner
3. Choose library & devices
4. Tap the devices
5. Uncheck your old mobile phone and put a check on mark on the new phone

Keep me posted.

Best,

Nikki

@Cmg82

Maybe it doesn't work with "Android Go".

These are Google Nest's stated requirements:

What does "be visible in Google play" mean in practice? I meet all the other requirements and I'm signed into Google play.

Thank you very much for your help Nikki by unchecking my 2nd phone I can now use the find my phone function (my new phone was already checked). In the past the hub offered the option to call phone a or b but I'm happy to be able to find my main phone again 😀
