Gentle Wake up not working on Nest Hub mini 2

Hi, I have a google Nest Hub mini (2nd gen) and some Lepro wifi colour changing bulbs - I want my google device to bring the light up from nothing to bright, but no matter what I try it won't have it.

If I ask Google to turn the light on or off, no problem.

If I ask Google to turn on Gentle Wake Up, it says "no problem" then doesn't do anything.

On my morning alarm, I have turned on the sunrise alarm setting which works intermittently, and the smart light option which does nothing.

I have tried adding a Routine, doesn't work. I have tried a factory rest, doesn't work. I have seen various posts here and on Reddit of similar issues and have followed all advice to no avail...

Any ideas???

I have found that the feature is very device dependent. Some bulbs need to start at a certain minimum level to get started. If they are told to start at a lower level to begin with, they never light. Other lights will stop responding if commands are sent too frequently. Phillip's Hue's semm to work with this feature almost flawlessly.

Hey seb_pinter,

Thanks for bringing this up. Kudos to @kiltguy2112 for helping here.

I can confirm that this feature is device dependent because some lights don't support this feature. We're always looking for ways to improve -- we'll take this as feedback, and we'll gladly pass it along to the team. You can also send feedback using your device by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback." Visit this link for more steps.

Thanks for the reply @kiltguy2112 - It's frustrating that bulbs sold as compatible with google devices don't function to the best of their capacity, having invested in a bunch of them! I'm not 100% sure that there aren't issues on the Google end, as the wake up features on my nest hub seem to play by their own rules on a day to day basis anyway 😅

Hey seb_pinter,

I suggest you check with the bulb manufacturer to confirm if your bulb has the ability to lower the brightness or light level to a certain percentage. Check with them also if the bulb supports gentle wake up features on the Google Home/Nest devices.

Let me know if I can assist you with anything else. Otherwise we can consider this one complete, and I will lock the thread.
