Google Home App Issue

My Google Home app insists that an update is required; however, there is no available update in my Play Store. I keep running into this issue while trying to set up my Nest Hub.

Do you by any chance have an older Android phone that cannot support the latest version of the Google Home app?

No. According to Play Store, my phone is compatible with the app.

Before we continue, I have some questions:

  • What model of Nest Hub are you setting up?

  • When you receive the update-required message, do you see it in the Google Home app or the Nest Hub? 

  • If you receive the notification in the Nest Hub, does it start a download?
