Google Home Max camera not working

I can’t seem to get mother camera on my Google Hime Max to work .  It’s connected to my WiFi and has a good signal.  “Hey Google” works fine, just can’t get the camera to connect.  I’ve rebooted the device and, my IPhone but didn’t help.  Sometimes, the banner on the device appears on screen and the green light indicating someone is watching come on but no picture on my phone.  On the AP, it says, “cannot connect or, “Camera Offline”.  I have keep trying to turn the camera on but it just cycles for about a minute and the returns to “camera offline”. I think I’ve done everything except doing a hard reset.  Any suggestions?

Hi Jpierce,

Thanks for posting—let's get this sorted out. A few questions: does the built-in camera work with Google Meet video calls or in the Nest app? In the Google Home app, check if Home monitoring features are turned on. When enabled, does it turn off by itself?

Try these steps:

  1. Make sure the Google Nest Hub Max isn't in Privacy mode. The switch displays orange when Privacy mode is on.
  2. Reboot Google Nest Hub Max.
  3. Force close the Google Home app > wait 5 seconds.
  4. Reopen the Google Home app.
  5. Go to Devices > Tap Google Nest Hub Max device card > Settings > Remove device > Remove. If you have household members in your home, they should also remove Google Nest Hub Max from their Google Home app.
  6. Factory reset the device > attempt to set up the device again.
  7. Try streaming the built-in Nest Cam.

Regards,
Alex
