Google Home Mini randomly playing music

Bashful415

My Google Home Mini plays music (local radio stations) at random times. I only have one Google Home device. It happens mostly when I'm not home. Tonight, it happened when I was in the shower. I was the only person home and signed into my secured wifi. My android phone was streaming music from YouTube music (my preferred music streaming service) when it happened.

When I checked my Google Activity for tonight, the request to play a local radio station was on my activity log! But how? How do I get this to stop?

My Google Activity Log stated:

"Said play 96.1.

Hi Bashful415,

Thanks for posting.

I appreaciate all the details you've shared. Have you already checked this setting?

To prevent others on your Wi-Fi network to control your media casting, you can turn off Cast media control notifications on your Chromecast or your speaker or display.

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile and then tap Settings Settings and then Recognition & sharing.
  3. Turn Let others control your cast media off.

Keep me posted.

Best,

Princess
