Google Home Mini sound issues

I’ve had my speaker for a couple years and the sound has always been great. Lately when I play music it will often sound like it’s phasing in and out slightly. There will be barely any bass and sound almost tinny.
I’ve tried unplugging for a hard reset  and still the same issue.

Hey GiaComo4427,

Thanks for reaching out. That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let's see what's going on.

What's the cast firmware version of your Google Home Mini? Could you try toggling the equalizer settings of your device? Also, when you said you reset your Google Home Mini, are these the steps you've taken?

  • On the bottom of Home Mini, press and hold the factory reset button located below the power cord.
  • Look for a circle etched into the base.
  • After 5 seconds, your device will begin the factory reset process.
  • Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more, until a sound confirms that the device is resetting.

Looking forward to your response.

Best,

Alex
