When I ask my Google Home to play a specific song, more often than not I get either a live version or a version from a completely different artist. As an example I said "Hey Google, play A Pillar of Salt by The Thermals" and instead of playing the album version it played the live version. I tried to be more specific "Hey Google, play the album version of A Pillar of Salt by The Thermals." Still get the live version. This issue has existed for too long and it happens far more often than it should. It is not an issue exclusive to me as evidenced by this post:
That post about the same exact issue, a specialist responded, then disappeared while over a dozen people replied with their own examples of this happening.
This also isn't a new issue. Here is a Reddit post about it from 4 years ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/googlehome/comments/8c9c44/always_plays_the_wrong_version_of_the_song_on/?u...
This is such a frustrating issue and it's very disheartening that Google has ignored it for years now.

Hi Snailwogg,
Thanks for reaching out.
Sorry to hear about this experience. Just to verify, does it happen only on one song? Also, what music provider are you using?
Best,
Princess
