Google Home Speaker AI Updates?

Anyone have any insight on updating the ai in the home systems? Considering the growth we've seen in the last year in ai, I'm really disappointed with the things that google home can't do yet. Why can't it be more conversational? I'm just frustrated that it still wont listen to me when I ask it to play a certain song and it finds a different one.. like come on.. we are so far past this.

Some people would prefer less conversation or even no response at all when asking for actions to be initiated, especially late at night.

I have found a way to do that on Mini speakers.

My google mini speaker used to tell me about my journey to work using public transport. But this month (July 2025) it has resorted to telling me my journey to work by car is.... I find that strange as I did not change the action. It is triggered by my saying "good morning". It does the rest around that i.e. greets me, tells me the time and (commute info) then streams a radio channel. I do not remember how I set the original action (or it moved in software updates) so not sure how to check it. On your topic of songs... the google asistant used to default to spotify (I have premium) but now prefers to suggest google music stream unless I explicitly ask for it to use spotify.
