Google Home will not stop playing NEWS with the command "STOP".

I have had Google Homes for over a decade now. This is something that used to work till this past week. 

 

I will have some content, typically news, playing. I will say "Google Home, STOP". and I get the response " I will stop playing alarms and reminders in your home. I have 6 Google Homes in the house in total. 

 

The only way (one of the ways) I have gotten it to work is by saying "Google Home, Stop playing the news". This is frustrating!

I completely understand how frustrating it is when something that was working last week suddenly stops. It's also really helpful to know you found a workaround for now!   • What type and model of device do you have?
  • Is this happening with all your devices, or just one in particular?
  • Are all your devices located under the same home in the Google Home app?
