Google Home won’t play Spotify

I have two google hubs and one Nest mini. They have worked fine for a few months. Very recently when playing Spotify it will cut in and out of the music on random speakers. Eventually after about 10 minutes of playing music it will completely stop playing. I have tried unlinking my Spotify, resetting my router and I just did a factory reset and they still don’t work. I even tried playing just one speaker at a time and I have the same issue.

That certainly isn’t the experience we want you to have and thank you for doing the troubleshooting steps — a few questions: have you tried other music services like YouTube Music? How was it? When you mentioned a factory reset, was it the same steps as what you see in this link? How far are your Nest speakers from your router? What country are you located in?

 

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first: 

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

 

If you have a Spotify app, try to cast music from the app to your Nest speakers one by one. Also, replicate the concern by giving voice commands to play Spotify.

 

Lastly, if the issue persists, try these steps:

 

  1. Unlink Spotify account from Google Home app.
  2. Unlink and relink account from Spotify.
  3. Uninstall and reinstall the Spotify app if available.
  4. Relink account to Spotify.
  5. Relink Spotify to Google Home app.
