Google Nest 2nd gen stuck on grey boot logo

Hi, I have a problem with 2 out of 4 of my Nest Hub devices. When I plug them to the power source, they are stuck on a grey screen with Google logo on it. One of them manages to boot through the animation, but then also stays on similar screen albeit black-backgrounded (iirc). I've tried factory resetting them but that didn't help.

Sadly I don't have the receipts. How can I resolve this? I'm sure there is a way to flash them with new software using the serial port.

Hi Redc4ke,

Thanks for posting in the community!

That sounds frustrating! Of course, I can help you with the G logo situation on your Nest Hub (2nd generation). Here are some steps we can try to resolve the scenario:

  • Make sure you're using the original power adapter that came with your Nest Hub.
  • Try plugging the device into a different power outlet.
  • On the back of the Nest Hub, press and hold both volume buttons for about 10 seconds. You'll hear a sound to indicate the factory reset process has begun.

Hopefully, these steps will fix this. Please let me know if you're still stuck, and I'll be happy to help further!

Best regards,

Nery.

Same issue here. Factory reset not possible , booting in recovery mode not possible, changing outlets doesn’t do anything and the other procedure of unplugging and plugging back in 11 times doesn’t work either. Completely stuck here
