Google Nest Audio Loud Connect & Disconnect

ne1av1cr

When I cast from my phone to my Google Nest Audio, the sound it makes when it connects and disconnects is very loud and jarring.  If I turn the speaker volume down to where the connecting/disconnecting tone isn't loud, then I can't hear the audio.  When it unexpectedly disconnects during the night, the tone it plays to let me know it has disconnected wakes us up.  (I'll be asking about the unexpected disconnects in another thread.)

Use case:

Using the speaker to play sounds while I sleep.

I'd like to know how to turn this off as well. It's extremely annoying. Especially as the Nest Audio disconnects at random.

If it can't be turned off then it needs to be added to the software as a feature to be able to turn off.

Thanks.

I'm still having this problem as of today.

Yeah, me too. Do Google even reply here? If so then their level of care is poor. It seems to have become worse over the years, as I've got everything Google for many years- Nexus 5, 3 Pixel phones, many Google minis and this Audio speaker. I'm rethinking that now, as I see deterioration in quality of products, software and customer care.

This Nest Audio wouldn't be so bad if it didn't disconnect from Bluetooth all the time. I know it's this device as I use many bluetooth devices and the others dont disconnect. I wish I had purchased a better speaker elsewhere.

I'm still having this problem.  Additionally I noticed there are available settings under "Notifications & digital wellbeing" that allow for a Night mode.  I turned them on and set the times for it to be active, verified that it was showing as active, then connected and disconnected and the connection/disconnection notifications were still the same volume as the audio playing.

Hi Jake,

yeah I'm still having the problems too. The Nest Audio disconnects a LOT by itself. Other bluetooth devices stay connected. Plus can't turn the disconnect sound off. I'm using Windows 10.

Cheers

Greg

Hey all,

Since this thread hasn't had activity in a while, we're going to close it to keep content fresh. I did find an article that has some troubleshooting steps. If you have additional questions, feel free to submit another post, and provide as many details as possible so that others can lend a hand. Hope this helps!

Best regards,

Jake
