Google Nest Doorbell (battery) not connected to Nest Hub

Hi all,

A few days ago, I installed my Google Nest Doorbell (battery) and all is working fine.

To not only have an alert on my phone when someone rings our bell, I also purchased the Nest Hub (2nd gen), so I can see on that screen as well who’s at the door.

I installed that one today and seems to work, both devices are visible in the Home app, however both don’t see to be connected/synced with each other. When the bell rings, I only get an alert on my phone and not on the hub.

What could be the problem here?

Thanks in advance!

Kristof

@KristofF

Do you have "Visitor announcements" turned on for your doorbell?

Hi,

yes that’s turned on. I already searched google for answers but it looks like I did everything that’s recommended but it still doesn’t work.

@KristofF

Then I think you'll need to seek answers from Google Nest Support. It seems there are other customers who are also not getting "Visitor announcements", mostly from the battery doorbell.

Thanks for the help, but we’ve replaced the hub closer to the door/doorbell and that seemed to do the trick. We’re now getting the alert on the hub with video! Not sure if that was the issue but it’s working now.
