Google Nest Hub 2nd Gen turns on at night: Where is the fix?

RARE_M

I have noticed several posts on the topic of this Nest Hub (2nd gen) turning itself on at night as mine is doing the same. I thought it was daytime last night when I woke up but it was 4:30am! All I see on the posts is people not following up on the fix, so the post gets locked. I have done everything possible to stop this: motion sensing off (so pretty pointless as a sleep tracker, then!), screen is locked, downtime on and comes back on way after the alarm actually goes off...There's nothing more to do as far as the fixes in the various posts say, so is there a way to force stop this device from rebooting? Otherwise, it's going back for a refund.

I have fixed this issue by setting the minimum screen brightness to dark and responsive to the ambient light. The screen may still turn on at 4am, but it doesn't get bright now, so problem solved. Thank you!

Hello RARE_M,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

I know how challenging it is when you're having issues with your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen). Let's try to get to the bottom of this. A few questions: when did the issue start? What is the current firmware version of your Nest display?

Please proceed with resetting your Nest Hub (2nd gen) by pressing and holding both volume buttons together, at the back of the Nest display, for about 10 seconds. You'll hear your Google Assistant confirm that it's resetting the Nest display.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
