Google Nest Hub 2nd Generation has blinking Google screen and will not reboot.

Hello.  I have made several attempts to reboot my Nest Hub with no success.  I have two (2) and the other is working fine.  I have read several posts and tried the factory reset, unplug, plug, hold to 10 seconds, turn off/on and nothing.  Please help.  Then, as I'm typing this the scree shows Link account and when I go to the GH app and tap Display,  Next, it says it's looking for device and then reverts back to What are you setting up? screen.  Please help. Thank you.

Hi @KC66,

Thanks for posting in the community forum. I'm sorry to hear you've had such a frustrating experience with your Nest Hub 2nd gen. No worries, I'd be more than happy to look into this further for you to help provide a solution. To help me with that, I have a few questions:

  • When did you first notice this issue?
  • Have you tried using another phone for the setup?
  • When you try the factory reset, can you hear any sound?
  • Please share a picture of your Nest Hub displaying the error.

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Hello, and thanks for your follow-up. I was able to reboot and reestablish the connection, but this lasted only a few hours. The display again blinks in gray with G in the center. I've been trying to reboot but unsuccessfully thus far.  I don't hear a sound when I try to factory reset.  I only have one (1) phone.  This has been happening since November 2024 at least.  It's very frustrating.  My other display is fine.  Again, thaknks.

Hi @KC66,

Thanks for your reply and for the information shared.

As I said earlier, if you can share a picture or a video showing the error, it would be really helpful. Also, please confirm:

  • Was the device already in this state when you first discovered it?
  • If not, were you interacting with the device when it happened?
  • If so, what were you trying to do?
  • Did you unplug the device, or was there a power outage shortly before you discovered the issue

Please let me know the answers to these questions, and I'll be happy to help you further.

Cheers,
Jonathan
