Google Nest Hub Max won't call my wife's phone

MatthewLyon
Community Member

I have two Google accounts...mine and my wife's.  We are trying to set up our Google Nest Hub Max so that our kids can call either of our phones and that we can call them.  I'm having numerous problems.

1.  When I call my wife's on Google Meet, it rings on the Hub Max.

2.  My wife can't call me on Google Meet

3.  When I call "Home" via google Home app, it doesn't ring anywhere.

4. When my wife calls "Home" via google Home app, it rings on Hub Max and identifies as me.

5.  My kids can call me via Hub Max.

6.  My kids cannot call my wife via Hub Max.  Its says, "something went wrong".

My phone number is set up as the calling account, but is there no possible way for the Hub Max to call my wife's account somehow?  This is the main feature I bought the Hub Max for.....    Ideally, I want the Hub Max to be its own entity, instead of somehow being my wife's account.  Is that possible?

Hello MatthewLyon,

Thanks for bringing this up. Sorry to hear about your experience with the Google Nest Hub Max when using Google Meet. A few questions: when did the issue start? What country are you located in? Are you having issues calling other contacts? How many accounts are linked on the Google Home app? What are the commands that you're using when calling using the Nest Hub Max?

Let's go ahead and try removing and re-linking your Google Meet account from the Google Home app. Follow these steps below to know-how:

  1. On a mobile device, open the Google Home app.
  2. At the top right, tap the Account Icon > Assistant settings.
  3. Scroll down to Voice & video calls > Video & Voice Apps.
  4. Remove your Google Meet account.
  5. Force close the Google Home app first, then re-open to re-link your Google Meet account.

If it is still the same, proceed with resetting your Nest Hub Max. Below are the steps:

  1. Remove the Nest Hub Max from its current home structure.
  2. Factory reset the Nest Hub Max.
  3. Set up your device then link your Google Meet account.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
