Google Nest Mini 2nd Gen issues

Marta_651

I have the below issue long time ago. I have rebooted everything multiple times and once the Google Nest Mini 2nd Gen is successfully connected, I try to get to the next step and the following error comes up: “The operation couldn't be completed. (kGSKErrorDomain error -83902.)”

I have also tried all the troubleshooting posted here and in other posts and no success at all.

Anyone with the same issue?

Hi @Marta_651

Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand you're having trouble finishing the setup for your Google Nest Mini 2nd Gen. I also appreciate you trying to troubleshoot the error code “kGSKErrorDomain error -83902.” Let me help you from here!

To give you the best troubleshooting advice, I need some information about your problem:

  • When did you first notice the issue?
  • Where did you buy your Nest Mini?
  • What language and region are set on your app/phone?
  • What troubleshooting steps have you tried?

I'll be ready to help as soon as I have that information.

Best regards,

Debora

Hi Debora,

Thanks for your response.
When I first got the Google Nest (a year and a half ago more or less, it was a present) I had no issues trying to connect it. However it’s true that since the very beggining, sometimes it would connect to my mobile phone, sometimes not… But I didn’t pay too much attention.

The Google Nest Mini was bought in a shopping mall in Spain (I’m Spanish and live here too).

Around 2-3 months ago, the Google Nest Mini decided not to connect anymore to my mobile phone. I have changed my Wi-Fi router but all my devices are working correctly. Well, I have my mobile phone set up in British English and the region Spain. I tried to reset from scratch the Google Nest (Pressing the middle of the device for at least 10sec) and now the voice is a mix of Italian and Spanish. First says to downlowad the Google Home app in Italian and after that says the same in Spanish.

I have rebooted everything, my router, my Google Nest, I have downlowad the latest version of the Google Home app (in case there was any update that could solve my issue), but no success.

Clearly, the error it’s not about my Wi-Fi, otherwise I couldn’t get it connected to it. When it gets connected, I go to the next step and appears that error. I don’t know if it’s something related to my mobile phone or what the issue could be…

Any ideas?

Thanks again!

Hi @Marta_651

Thank you for sharing that information! This issue typically occurs when there are different language settings between the Google Home app and your phone.

If you have questions about how to change the language settings, here are the steps:

  • Open the Settings app on your phone.
  • Select "Language & Region," then tap "Add Language," and select "English (US)."
    • Another recommendation is to check for any available iOS updates on your iPhone. Sometimes, outdated phone software can interfere with the pairing process.

After changing and checking these settings, please try setting up your device again.

Please let me know if these steps were helpful. I'll be happy to assist you with further steps if needed.

Best regards,

Debora
