Google Nest Mini No Longer Casting from Spotify

Hello,

My Google Nest Mini (2nd Gen) suddenly stopped casting my music from Spotify and I don't know why. I used to be able to say 'Hey Google, play Spotify' without issue. In fact, I was able to do that this morning. However, not even 2 hours later, it's no longer working. 

My Spotify app and Google Home app show that the my Nest Mini (NM) is connected to my account, however despite the unit say 'Ok, playing Spotify', no audio comes out. I can play Spotify on my other devices (Phone, Laptop), but not my NM. I tried to manually connect my NM via Bluetooth to Spotify, but the app won't let me press the 'Play' button. This is a list of things I've tried to fix it, with no avail:

1. Unlinked and relinked Spotify to my NM, 3 separate times.

2. Deleted and redownloaded Spotify.

3. Logged out and logged in of Spotify.

4: Factory reset my NM and re-linked it to Spotify.

5: Shut down and restarted my device.

I don't know what else I can do and am very disappointed and frustrated. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • If you try to play your music using a different service, like YouTube music, does this situation also happen?
  • Does this happen just for single songs, with a playlist, or both?
