Google Nest Mini unlinking repeatedly, not detecting wifi, can't set up again

I have had my Google Nest Mini (2nd gen) for about 2 years now. It worked great for the first year and now repeatedly unlinks, has wifi issues, goes completely unresponsive, etc. How often this happens is variable (between a every couple of weeks to everyday). However, when it disconnects, most of the time (>90%) it'll show a new Nest device with a new ID number associated with it for which I have to complete a new set-up to get it working again. Do I need to assign it to a static IP?? What causes this new ID to show up? I have now been trying to troubleshoot my speaker for the last two days. I have done two factory resets and two unplug/reboots. Today, it told me, "Cannot communicate with Nest Mini" after I selected the wifi (which is working), so I completed a factory reset. It now is completely not allowing any bit of a set-up. I am extremely frustrated and irritated, as when it works, it works very well and I enjoy it very much; but now I just want to trash this device and never buy another Google device. None of my friends with Alexa ever run into these problems, yet a Google search yields tons of hits with users experiencing identical problems as I am. This just isn't right. Any help you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there,

Sorry for the late response, but I wanted to drop in here to help.

I understand that these issues can be frustrating but I definitely wanted to stop by and see how I could help.

Just wanted to double check to see if you were still needing help on this? If so, what troubleshooting steps have you tried?

Please let me know.

Best regards,

Garrett DS

Hi Garrett,

Yes, I am still having trouble. Since I posted this, I have had the speaker reset (loudly) in the middle of the night twice and once during the day, and disconnect off of my wireless network on a nearly daily basis. I have unplugged it for multiple days, completed multiple factory resets, and changed my wireless network channel in the hopes of minimizing potential interference. Nothing is helping. I'm ready to toss my speaker. I spend more time repeating set-ups than actually using it.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated. It is currently sitting idle, again not set up after another auto-disconnect 2-3 days ago, because I simply can't deal with it anymore.
