Hello,
I have recently bought a Nest Hub 2nd gen, to use as a sleep analyser and alarm clock. I also have a Google Workspace account, set up with my domain, as my main - and only - google account. When I tap into the Nest Hub in my Google Home app, the settings for Sleep Sensor does not show up. However, when I try to access the settings on the Hub itself, it says that I need to ask permission from my systems admninistrator - which is me.
Is there any way around this, or do I need to return the Nest and buy a different product instead? Also, what other products does my Workspace account not work with? The fact that I pay a hefty sum each year through Google, and can't have the same capabilities as a non-paying user, is quite frankly idiotic. At the very least, this should be noted in the policy agreement.
I look forward to your answers.

For a software company to respond this way is utter BS.
Fix your systems and give customers what customers want.

Hi henchr,
Thanks for visiting the Community.
Sorry to hear about your experience. Some Google Home app features are not available for Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) accounts. To access all Google Home app features available in your country, link a personal Gmail account instead.
Instructions for Google Workspace Super Administrators:
If you are the Google Workspace Super Administrator, follow these steps:
At the top right of the gray box, click Edit Service .
(Optional) To turn a service on or off for an organizational unit:
Hope this helps.
Best,
Princess

LOL.
I did a search his forum and it's been 3+ years that your paying customers have been clamoring to have the same services that you give to your free customers, and you have done zilch to give customers what they want.
You can fill the form on my (and all of your paying customers') behalf. Like it matters.

I'm sorry, but how do you expect me to accept this as a solution? For years I support and pay Google for their services, yet I can't fully experience its features simply because I am paying for its service? I wholeheartedly agree with Mike in this thread, this is unacceptable.
I, of course, understand that there may be security risks involved with allowing users in an organisational structure certain functions and features, but this should be able to be overridden in the admin console, not just taken away from the users who actually pay for a service. Please see fit to escalate this to whomever might be interested in solving this issue, I hardly think filling out yet another form would do anyone any good.
Thank you for your assistance.

Hi everyone,
Thanks for responding and I appreciate your honest feedback. I know that we all want to use our workspace accounts to link to our devices however, there might be security risks that we can encounter if ever this would be available. I'll make sure to let the team know about this.
Best,
Princess

LOL.
There's an entire marketplace of "apps" that are provided by third parties that can be added to Workspace, yet integrating a Google product is a higher security risk than, let's say, one provided by RingCentral (to pick a company at random)? See https://workspace.google.com/marketplace
Do you think that your paying customers are idiots and will believe this lie?

Hello again,
Again, I understand that there might be security risks involved - though, as Mike says, integrating a Google product should definitely not be a higher risk than any other app - but this should, at the very least, be user configurable. As of now, I've returned the Nest Hub and looking for other alternatives to Google, as their services simply doesn't allow me to do what I would like. I hope in the future that these problems will be resolved, and I will be the first to jump back on the train.
Again, see fit to escalate this to whomever would be likely to look at it.
