Google Nest mini 2nd gen problem connecting to WiFi and setting up

Unable to setup Nest mini 2nd generation 

Tried different phones, different WiFi networks, resetting the nest mini multiple times, reinstalling Google home app but nothing works. 

Earlier I was unable to connect it to a wifi network, now I'm unable to proceed with setup at all as it says "Your version of the Google Home app is out of date and requires an update to set up this device"

However my Google home app is up to date (from Play Store) side loading latest available APK doesn't work either

Thanks for reaching out! I'm sorry you're going through this trouble setting up your Nest Mini 2nd generation. It sounds like you've done a great job troubleshooting so far. Here are a couple more things that might help:

 

  • Network problem: There might be issues preventing your Nest Mini from connecting to your wifi. You can check the following article to know more about My speaker or display is not connecting to Wi-Fi.
  • Latest version: We recently launched a new version of the Google Home app (v3.16). Can you confirm if your app is updated to the latest version? If the app is already updated, try uninstalling and reinstalling it to clear any potential glitches.
