Suddenly Google won't use my personal playlists on Spotify. Never an issue until the last couple of weeks -- even if I give it some hyper specific super obscure title with my own name in it, it still finds something *sorta* named like that or tells me it can't find it at all. What the hell gives??
These small tweaks happening lately making the product worse are infuriating!

I'm having this issue as well with both Pandora & Spotify. It seems that Google Assistant is the problem. No matter what default music provider I have listed in Google Home, if I say "Hey Google, show my playlists" it tells me that I have no playlists set up on **default music provider**. Which is just not true. I've tried resetting & relinking everything and nothing works. It's a Google issue for sure.

Hi, @superdan54,
Thank you for your post. I'm truly sorry the Google Assistant is not playing any of your playlists. I'm happy to help you!
I appreciate you taking the time to follow all those troubleshooting steps on your end. To provide you with the best assistance, please answer the questions in my previous post.
In the meantime, perform a factory reset on your Google Home device. Please note that this will erase all settings, so back up any important data before proceeding. You can find instructions on how to set up your Google Home device again here: Set up your Google Nest or Home speaker or display.
Please let me know how it goes.
Best regards,
Ana

I have five Google Home Devices, 4 Google Mini's and 1 Nest Hub. They were all working and now suddenly they all do not recognize any of my playlists. There's simply no way all 5 simultaneously went bad. The problem is 100% with some update to Google Assistant.
This command used to work: "Hey Google, play **my playlist** on Pandora". (or Spotify/Apple Music, etc)
Now when I say that it simply plays **some** music like that. It doesn't matter if it's Spotify, Pandora or any other music provider. The command no longer works.
Unlinking/relinking the music providers does nothing. Factory resets do nothing. This is a repeated problem I have seen on multiple threads without ever getting a clear solution from Google. It's a major issue that pretty much renders my Google speaker ecosystem useless as I've made many playlists tailored to my specific mood & likes. I don't want the crap that Google's AI thinks I *should* like.

Also I know that it's not an issue with my voice command structure.
If I say "Hey Google, show my playlists on Pandora" (or Spotify), it returns the following message:
"It doesn't look like you have any playlists set up on Pandora". This used to work as well. And it's why the voice command to play a playlist no longer works, Google's API cannot access my personal playlists for whatever reason. And again, relinking the account does nothing to fix this.

Has a reliable solution to this issue been found?
I have been using my 2nd Gen Google Nest Minis (and indeed my Android) to control Spotify and play personal for many years without issue. For me this issue arose sometime around 14th November. It occurs on all my minis and my phone. It occurs whether I speak a request or embed a command in Google Home automation. I've even tried renaming my Spotify playlists to work around the issue. Assistant simply doesn't find personal playlists - alternatively, Assistant is only using the first word within a playlist name to identify what to play - it may even be doing both of these things. If I say "OK Google, shuffle my playlist called Sleeptime on Spotify", the mini (or phone) goes off and plays some arbitrary playlist related to "sleep". If I say, "OK Google, shuffle my playlist called CJ Driving on Spotify", it goes off and plays some arbitrary stuff relating to "CJ". If I use a playlist name of "2X3B", Assistant plays something arbitrary relating to "2X".
This is really frustrating as I use Spotify music in a lot of Google Home automation, for example to dim the lights and play a playlist of relaxing music but anything relating to Spotify playlists is now very broken.

Same here, years of happy use and linking, but surely about 3 weeks ago it’s like the Nest is just rebelling! Really frustrating, I’ll try all the steps suggested (that have failed for others) but hoping Google will realise this is not just user-error but some update they need to undo.

I have the same issue. Years of using Google Home Mini to play my personal Spotify playlists worked great. Then a few weeks ago, it will not play my personal playlists. It'll play some random music somewhat like the name of my playlist. My daughter says she is NOT having the same issue, with the same Spotify account type and same Google Home Minis.
This is so frustrating; the Google Home Minis are pretty useless to me now.
