Google doesn't accept PIN

Puzz

Google last night started asking me for a pin. It still does what I ask it but then asks for a PIN

My account didn't have a PIN so it's weird it even asked, so I set one up to see if that would stop it.

It still asks for the PIN, and doesn't accept it as correct.

I've tried removing, restarting and re-adding devices to see if that would stop it but it doesn't.

This affects all Google home and nest devices in my house across multiple generations. It makes no sense. Why are they suddenly asking for a PIN and why aren't they accepting the one I made?

I tried the Google Admin app as well but no dice as that won't even let me sign in.

How can I make it stop asking?

Hello Puzz,

Sorry for the late response. I know the feeling when something strange is happening on your Google Home and Nest devices. I'd love to dig deeper into this.

A few questions:

  • When did the issue start?
  • Is there a specific feature where it's asking for a pin?
  • What type of account are you using (personal or business account)?

Let's go ahead and try using a different account to see if your devices will have the same behavior.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
