Google-enabled calling vs google mobile calling.

I see three options to set up calling. For now I have never used Google meet, so that's out. What's the difference between Google Enabled Calling and Google Mobile Calling? I know Mobile calling uses Google Voice or Google Fi, but how does Google Enabled calling work? My wife will want to say "ok Google, call Steve" and have it call my phone. So what phone number does it use? Not sure which of these two I should set up.

But I definitely need to be able to have the Nest speakers on my Home network call to my phone and to my wife's phone.

Hi @Stevet2.

Thanks for contacting the Google Nest Community. I understand you are asking about the difference between Google Enabled Calling and Google Mobile Calling. You are also looking for a way to have your Nest speakers initiate calls to both your personal phone and your wife's phone on your home network. I'd be glad to help you clarify these points.

  • Google Enabled Calling allows calls to most mobile, landline, and business numbers within the US and Canada, provided those numbers are specifically saved within your Google Contacts.

  • Google Mobile Calling relies entirely on your linked mobile provider (like Google Voice or Google Fi) and plan. It often requires a subscription, may support international calls, and any associated usage is charged based on the service provider's rates. Its primary benefit is using your actual mobile number as the Caller ID.

To start a call from your Nest speaker or display, please refer to this article: Make a call on your Google Nest speaker or display.

Feel free to keep posting if you have more questions.

Regards,

Gabriela
