Hey Davehair1989, have you assigned the devices to rooms? For voice commands to work the device needs to be assigned a room, not just linked to the account.

Sorry for the delay and thank you for your reply, so I have a hive plug linked to my living room which I have named tall lamp and my home mini is unable to turn it on/off "hive unavailable" "not set up yet" and "don't understand" are the responses

Hi Davehair1989,

No worries, thank you for your reply back! I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with your Google Assistant and smart socket/plug not working.

As the smart socket/plug is not our product, I am unable to troubleshoot that item, and I recommend you reaching out to the manufacturer.

You can also reach out to the Google Assistant Help Community Forum as your question is more related to the Google Assistant than the actual Google Nest Mini device itself. A specialist there should be able to look into this issue and help you.

Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns. Thanks.

Hi All,

First, thank you GothamNY for helping on this post, I appreciate it.

Hello Davehair1989, thanks for your post. Just wanted to check in, have you tried GothamNY's advice? Let's check that your devices are set up in the Google Home App and assigned to rooms so that they can respond to commands. Please let me know if you have any other questions or concerns, we'd be more than happy to help.
