Google nest audio not connecting

Kiriana

I have recently moved houses with my mini google nest, & it wouldn’t work. Whenever i connect it, it would say “sorry somethings not write, wait a few minutes and try setting up again, you can also try unplugging this device and plugging it back in again”. I tried multiple occasions with no success. After research I found it wasn’t able to connect to 5G wifi network.

Following this I purchased the Google nest audio as there wasn’t any information stating that it wouldn’t be able to connect. Once setting it up and getting it connected, it says the same thing when I try to use it.

Could you please let me know if there is anything I can do to get it connected?

Move the speaker or display to a different location. This will rule out any interference in the area which may be causing the SSID to not broadcast properly. Perform a factory reset. On your mobile device or tablet, turn Wi-Fi off and then back on.

Hope this helps.

Hi folks,

@Kiriana, this is not the experience we wanted you to have, let me help you. A few things: were there any recent changes made? What is your ISP and modem/router manufacturer?

By the way, Google Home can connect to 5GHz Wi-Fi if it's not too far from your router. A 5GHz band works best in smaller spaces or if you have a Wi-Fi extender. Connecting your Google Home to 5GHz Wi-Fi is also recommended if you need less interference from other connected devices.

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes tops.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

To eliminate network issues, please try setting up your device using a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home/Nest devices). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks for helping, MikeClark2000.

Best,

Dan
