Google nest audio not playing radio 1, and YouTube music premium buffers for ages before starts to play music

The non nest, Google home and mini devices all play radio 1 and start YouTube music tracks quickly... What gives? Started 2 weeks ago.. just slow for music, other voice queries quick on all devices

I've done the resets, sent one back as a warranty return, only to have the next device perform like that out of the box.

Today I have another theory that so far proves true, I have a mesh network at home and would say that the crossover between the access points is too great, the nest is in the middle.

So I switched the far one off and things got back to how they should be, then switched the settings to make the crossover zone smaller, now so far... It's all good!. Thinking outside the box... Hopefully someone else benefits from this theory too

Hi BradMcA,

Thanks for reaching out.

Sorry to hear about this. A few things I'd like to ask-- is it only happening when you're using YouTube? Have you tried using other music providers? Let's go ahead and check these things first:

  • How far is your Google Nest Audio from the router?
  • Is it only happening when using music? How about radio or podcast?

Let's perform a quick reset to your Google Nest Audio and see if that would make any changes on its behavior.

Best,

Princess
