Google nest mini

Hi, I’ve just unboxed my google nest mini (Xmas present) the 4 coloured lights come on but I don’t get any voice that says ‘welcome’ I’ve tried resetting it numerous times again the 4 coloured lights come in - nothing. In Google Home App wifi does find the nest when it asks do I hear the sound - nope no sound. Any ideas please
