I have used a group speaker in the past but now it says to try again later. So now I have to play music on my hub and then add other speakers to join manually

Same here. Playing to known, named speaker groups consistently produces a "Sorry, something went wrong. When you're ready, give it another try. " Seem like Google needs to give quite a lot another try. (iOS not a factor in my situation.)

Hey all,
Sorry for the late reply. I wanted to follow up and see if you are still in need of any help? Please let me know if you are still having any trouble from here, as I would be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.
Best regards,
Jake

We need to be better able to manage speaker groups. Some speakers become unavailable, some groups become unavailable, speaker groups become ghost groups you cannot manage, and speaker pairs lose their paired member. It's all really become quite a mess. Please update the controls in this functional area to better control and manage existing and old speaker groups.

Agreed. My Google Nest Hub will not join the speaker group with my Google Home and Google Home Minis. I have to manually connect these speakers together if I want to hear "media or music" from each of the aforementioned speakers simultaneously.

Hey folks,
Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry for the trouble this has caused you — let me help you out.
Make sure your devices are within 15-20 feet of your router and connected to the same network. They should also be set up in the same room on your Google Home app. Could you try rebooting your speakers or displays and router for 1-2 minutes to refresh the connection? Also, try reinstalling your Google Home app.
Thanks,
Alex

I've done all of that repeatedly. The problem is GHOST SPEAKERS! Please listen.
06-07-2022 04:31 PM
Yes, we are all still having issues. We need improved functionality to remove ghost speakers and ghost speaker groups.

Hey TTE,
We appreciate all the details and the steps you've done so far. Could you please send a feedback report on your Google Home app or speakers with a brief description of what's happening with your device? To ensure it will be captured, please verify that "Send device usage data and crash reports to Google" is turned on before you submit the feedback.
Thanks,
Alex

I appreciate the feedback, and I plan to reinstall my app/ unplug my devices.

Hey Redbullseye,
We appreciate your time.
If possible, you may also try deleting the old speaker group that you have and create a new one. If the issue persist, reset your speakers to their default settings and set them up again.
Thanks,
Alex

Again, no kidding. This is all not helpful.
06-08-2022 10:44 AM
Again, there are ghost speaker groups that we cannot connect to and cannot delete. Also, sproradically, exisiting speaker groups can suddenly no longer find their members. I have deleted existing groups, created new groups, recreated old groups. Connectivity among and ability to manage groups needs to be improved.

I’ve attempted all of these proposed solutions before as well. The only success I have had is by doing a hard reset on all of my speakers. It’s different than resetting or restarting your speaker. It will delete the speaker from your home group as well, but the hard reset wipes all data from your Google home device. If you have tried that then disregard my message. I don’t have a ghost speaker problem, but I do have speaker group problem. I haven’t found a solution, and any response by Google at this point is insulting to my intelligence.

Hey TTE,
We understand how you feel. If possible, could you try creating a new home and transfer all your devices there and delete your old home structure. Check this guide for more information.
Thanks,
Alex

I have already done that, multiple times. Ghost groups are still around, and ghost speaker names are still visible. One ghost in the group screws with functionality.

Yes, it's almost like they're offering suggestions like the old Help Desk joke, "Is it plugged in?"
06-09-2022 02:22 PM
Hey TTE,
We hear you! If you can send a feedback report on your device and on your Google Home app, that would help our team track your feedback. Just make sure "Send device usage data and crash reports to Google" is turned on before you submit the feedback.
Best,
Alex

The problem with your suggestion is that my device is MANY devices -- A GROUP. Seriously, are you following a script telling you what to suggest? Because your suggestions are not helpful at all. Focus on improving the code, locating old/ghost (deleted, but now reappearing!) speakers and named speaker groups. Figure out why they keep reappearing but are inaccessible. Maybe, if you can figure out why old speakers interfere with current speakers, you'll uncover why existing speakers lose connectivity or cause problems with their current/active group. We can't help you fix your code, we can only describe what's happening.
