Group speakers casting not working with Harman Kardon Enchant 1300

FFS

I've had this set up for the last 10 months in working order, this week the soundbar stop casting sound.   -  I have 2 nest audio speakers and a Harman Kardon Enchant 1300 in a Group to chromecast my music.   When I cast the music, there is no sound from the HK 1300. The soundbar is connected to the chromcast group, displaying info and if I turn the soundbar off, all the nest speakers would stop playing. Chromecast to the HK 1300 alone or in a Group with the 1st gen google home speaker with no issue (two speakers sound working).      I've deleted groups and reset all the speakers.   When I group the new nest audio speaker with the HK 1300, no chromcast sound is coming out of the HK 1300.  This issue is only not working properly with the current nest audio speakers.

Hey folks,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. Apologize for the late response.

I know how challenging it can be when you're having issues playing music on speaker group. Please note that Third-party Cast devices like soundbars with Chromecast built-in will need to be updated to Cast firmware 1.52.272222 and above to work on the speakers group. If your device is not receiving the update - please contact the manufacturer to check if you can force the update on your device.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Muddi

I have the HK 1300 Enchant Soundbar also, same problems here!

No actual Cast firmware from Harman Kardon. I hope that you can accelerate the update for this device.

Thanks for the update. To confirm, are you using Harman Kardon Enchat 1300? What is the current firmware version of your speaker?

Looking forward to your response.

Hey folks,

We understand how you feel about these changes on Audio group with your third-party speakers, and it is best to contact your speaker manufacturer for an updated firmware on your devices. Rest assured that your feedback will be pass over to the team.  Let me know if I can assist with anything else, otherwise I’ll be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Hey MBlom,

Thanks for reaching out, and my apologies for the late response. To confirm, do you have a Google Home/Nest device? If yes, what specific Google Home/Nest speaker do you have? Do you have the same setup as described by OP? Also, what are the troubleshooting steps that you're tried?

The soundbar is still not working properly. The current HK 1300 firmware is 1545620863 / cast firmware 1.28.102057 .  I have requested and waiting for Harman Kardon to update the firmware.      I'm waiting for the Cast firmware 1.52.272222 to arrive

Same issue here. Can't resolve.

I called Harman Audio at (877) 871-6755 and reported this issue. If you have the same issue, contact them and have them do a castware update on the soundbar.    I have multiple new Nest Speakers connected to the soundbar and it's a bummer it's not working.

Hello,

Same problem for me.

Did anyone mange to solve this?

HK is suggesting -

Let's start by doing a reset:
Reset the soundbar to the default settings programmed at the factory.

  1. In any source mode, press and hold the POWER and SOURCE buttons on the top panel of the soundbar.
  2. When the factory settings restore is complete, the soundbar automatically turns off and restarts.

After performing a reset. You will need to download the app called "Device Utility".

This app is similar to Google Home. You will be doing the same procedures in setting up the network of your device.

After the setup is done. Please go ahead and try to cast.

Hi,

Did you try it?

No, I don't have an android device at the moment. I only have iOS.

Shai

I did just now.

Did not work for me.

Still cast firmware 1.28.102057 and cast working only in single speaker. When trying to cast to a group not working 😞

Hey folks,

I understand the issue is about your Harman Kardon Enchant 1300. It is best to reach out to them directly as they are more trained for your device. Looks like we can consider this one complete, so I will lock the thread shortly unless I can help out with anything else about your Google Home/Nest device.

Hey Shai,

Thanks for that information. Since the update of your device will come from your speaker manufacturer, it is best to reach out to them from time to time to see if they have new updates.
