Haunted Google Home And Minis Activating On Their Own...Take Two!

deesgooghome

I have a Google Home and 4 minis all first gen that keep activating on their own. The keep adjusting the volume to 100% no matter how many times you turn it back down. They are also randomly blasting music all times of the day. I have rebooted the modem, router and all of  the googles as well. ..nothing works! This has been going on for weeks. In a previous chat I was told to make sure the let others cast was turned off and it is. I was also advised to change the pw to the wifi and reset the Googles, I have done both. Plz help!

Hey deesgooghome,

Thanks for sharing details about the issue here. I know how it feels when you're having issues with your Google Home and Mini devices. To further isolate the issue, please try setting up one of your devices on a mobile hotspot. Please note that you will need two mobile devices for this setup (one will serve as a router and the other to be used to set up your Google Home or Mini). Once done, check if your device will have the same behavior.

Keep us posted.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi deesgooghome,

How was your device? Have you had the chance to try the steps above?

I am not able to gain access to a hotspot unfortunately.

Hi deesgooghome,

@Muddi, thanks for the help.

Since you're not able to gain access to a hotspot. And doing the factory reset did not help, then let's check this out! Are you able to successfully set up all your devices? Are they still blasting the volume to 100%? Do they unlink by themselves or just disconnect from WiFi? How often does it happen in a day? How did you do the factory reset? Apologies for the questions but we need to narrow things down.

Keep me posted.

Thanks,

Dan
