Home Hub Forgets WiFi Configuration

Hello, I have a Google Home Hub, a bit under 2 years old. I use it mainly as an internet radio so it gets switched off quite a lot. Yesterday when I switched it on it came up with "Setup" because it couldn't connect to our wifi. I ended up doing a factory reset and set it up from scratch, although I had to change its name. Then it worked fine until I switched it off & on, then we're back to Setup again. If I set the wifi up again (don't seem to need factory reset now) it works again until I switch it off & on.
Any suggestions please?

Hi Jake,

Thanks for your reply. I'm just back from vacation. Very limited internet access whilst away.

I discovered that the way to get the Home Hub back on line was to power cycle the wifi router. This is rather strange as the rest of the network works fine, and the hub ran for months without any issues. It's happened 3 or 4 times in total now and each time the router off&on "fixes" it. We probably use the home hub in a strange manner compared to most people, we don't use it for controlling any devices, the main use is as a radio (which is why the sudden disappearance of all the foreign radio stations was a major PITA). It gets switched on & off frequently, at least once a day, and the problem happens at switch on.

We've been away for a month, it's probably at least a month before that since the last time it happened, maybe a firmware update has fixed it, and maybe a firmware update caused it in the first place, I don't know how to check when updates happened.

Hope that helps, sorry again to not respond sooner.

Cheers

pete
