Home X YouTube music: skips tracks

When I'm using yt music on my pixel 6 pro, to cast to my 1st gen Google home, for certain tracks the home is throwing out an error, or it's skipping to a track in the playlist that it can play. It's pretty widespread (only plays 2 tracks from an 86 track list), happens on playlists, artists, and individual tracks...

Tried clearing the app cache but it hasn't worked. Reset both devices, and you can't uninstall yt music from your pixel.. any ideas?

It's a known bug for over a year. They don't care. In fact youtube music + nest, when you cast or try to play some tracks it will say "sorry an error occured, retry" because it refuses to play tracks that are labeled "explicit lyrics".

The only solution is to drop youtube music and use spotify.

Hey folks,

Were sorry for the late response — let me help you out.

Is it also happening when you're playing music on your Google Home using voice commands? Could you please check if there's a filter set up on your Google Home app? You can also check if there's restriction on your YouTube Music account.

Let us know how it goes.

Best,

Alex

Hi,

Yes with voice commands the same title are skipped, it says “I ‘m sorry an error occurred” or not playing at all.

I checked the restricted mode is not enabled in my account.

Nor there filters (all is set to allow all)

Hey neokeats,

Thanks for the details. Do you have a premium account with YouTube? Have you tried resetting your Google Home to its default settings? Is it also happening when you initiate the command on your phone's Google Assistant?

Cheers,

Alex
